Grand Teton National Park is a national park located in Wyoming with 310,000 acres that include the major peaks of the Teton Range. The park is located only ten miles south of Yellowstone National Park.
We did not stay at Grand Teton National Park overnight but spent many hours there before going into Yellowstone National Park. So if you have just a day, there are a few highlights that can make the most of your time.
We stopped at Jenny Lake and took a boat ride across the lake. When you get to the other side you can get off the boat and go for a hike to Hidden Falls which is approximately a 1.3-mile round trip. It was a short easy hike to get to a spectacular waterfall. You can add another 1/2 mile to get to Inspiration Point.
Then depending on what time you get out from your hike and boat ride, you can have lunch or dinner at the Pioneer Grill at the Jackson Lake Lodge. The huckleberry shakes are amazing, especially if you come from an area that does not have them, you will not want to miss them. Make sure to also check out the view from the back veranda area. The view is quite spectacular of the Grand Tetons rising above Jackson Lake. You can get even a better view from a paved pathway leading to a higher viewpoint.
